Don't forget to pop back tomorrow for the showcase - there are some lovely cards to share!

25 January 2009

It's a busy showcase this week with lots of creations to share!

The first is an adorable baby card by Cookie Groover - I just love the canopy! The blanket is paper pieced and the babies head is popped up for dimension and Cookie used a silver stardust pen on the star for sparkle. (Cookie doesn't have a blog but if you'd like to see more of her cards, her SCS gallery is "Stampgroover").

Julia Antunes had a lot of fun creating these two cute doggie cards!

Sue Baxter made this card, she says this is one of her favourite elzy stamps and it reminds her of her little girl, Becky :)

Sue has a blog here!

My favourite this week is a valentines card / wallet by Donna Ferguson.

Donna has a blog and be sure to check out the other wallet style cards Donna made with this stamp set here!!

Thank you so much to all the ladies for sharing their wonderful creations this week!! :)
Remember - if you'd like to share a card you've made using our stamps, just email me a piccy with your full name and blog address if you have one. I will randomly chose someone from all who participated to receive a voucher to spend in our online shop at the end of the month!

Have a great evening!

I love moo

I have a couple of quick and easy cuties to share using the s-moo-ches clear set.
Unfortunately the white ink pad I used on the first card didn't print as solid as I hoped so I'm on the lookout for a better one... any ideas?
It would've looked great if the white popped just like the white card!

I love the simplicity of this one, it's just so sweet - and look - no scallops!! I've been using them on just about everything lately, lol.

I hope you likey!!

It's challenge time!

I'm setting this fortnight's challenge - it is to create a valentines treat or gift. The DT have come up with some lovely samples to inspire you. Just click on the link to the right under the challenges menu to see all their creations - I think marshmallows and kisses are very popular! ;)

Here's what I came up with. Very simple really, I stamped the cellophane sheet with light and dark pink hearts and wrapped it around a little clear bowl filled with chocolate dipped marshmallows and chopped hazelnuts. That's a fun idea to do with the kids!

The tag is coloured using koh-i-noor pencils blended with baby oil. To keep a perfect white border, I cut the circle with a nestabilities die and coloured it while still attached with the die to the plate.

Here are a couple of my favourite creations by the DT. This gorgeous pail is by Paula

and this creation by Steph contains no calories! It's a wonderfully decorated CD sleeve. Isn't that just the cutest!! And I love the red - it's not a colour I would have thought to use with the smooches set but it's FAB!

I'd love to see what you come up with for this challenge. Just add a link to your creation to this post and you'll be entered into a draw at the end of the month!

Showcase Sunday

For today's showcase, I have a lovely card by Janneke from The Netherlands. I just love the pink and green!

You can see more of Janneke's gorgeous creations on her blog, here.

Anyone can have their cards featured using our stamps in the weekly showcase. You can email me a photo of your creation at any time with 'Showcase Sunday' in the subject line. Everyone featured in the showcase or plays along with the dt challenges is added to a draw at the end of the month for a chance to win a gift voucher to spend in the online shop!

It's quite a sunny day here today, still a very chilly breeze, but it makes a nice change :) I hope you are doing something fun!

Happy Sunday!!

How about a competition??

I've had a great time with the release of our Valentine's stamps, the cards were so fun to make and the DT creations were extraordinary!
I'd love to see your Valentine's creations so I'm opening up a little card competition. You can use any Elzybells stamp you like to make your Valentine's card (they don't have to be any of the new releases) and email me a photo of your entry no later than 10th February.

I will pick my 3 favourite cards and the winners will each receive £10 worth of stamps of their choice.
Winners will be announced on Valentines day!

Final peeks & release day!!

It's release day today and all the new valentine stamps are now available in the online shop! The DT and I have one more sneak peek for you today so be sure to check out their blogs :)

How about this cute teddy, daydreaming about his valentine... (the little letter and pen image is from our 'Keep in Touch' clear set).

The background paper is just one sheet! It's from a Paper Mania 8x8" pack called 'Love'. How easy but effective is that! :)

The deep red background on this card is some luscious velvet paper so it's really lovely to touch and perfect for a valentine's card. I've also popped up the rose wreath and the teddies feet with 3d foam pads.

What I love most about the teddies is that they're so versatile. They don't just have to be for your valentine but can be used all year round for many occasions. They can easily be adapted for birthday, anniversary, get well or 'just because' cards.

I've had a lot of fun with the countdown and I'm overwhelmed by the fabulous creations by the DT. How amazing are they?! They've completely blown me away with their talent.

I have blog candy to give away! Just add a comment to this post telling me which is your favourite of all the new stamps and I'll randomly select a winner on Wednesday to win their favourite!

I really hope you like the new designs.
Pop back tomorrow for a little competition!

These stamps are part of our new clear set 'From me to Ewe'. There are a couple of *amazing* examples of this set on Paula's blog. You'll see that the little heart is a separate stamp to the jumper making it a great versatile little set!

Now, I'm off to check out everyone else's creations - I love this bit as I haven't seen the DT's stuff yet so I experience the same delight as you!! lol.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend, see you tomorrow for the final sneak peek!!
