Koh-i-noors not just for cardmaking

My sister *loves* fairies and as it was her birthday last week, I wanted to make her a little something so I dug out a fairy picture I had drawn back in college, scanned it, cleaned it up and printed it on some smooth white card. Then I went to it with my koh-i-noors!
Koh-i-noors are my 'go to' colouring medium, I just love them. I can't believe I haven't touched my prismas in, I don't know how long!

The vibrancy of the koh-i-noors is stunning on a larger piece of art.
Here's a close up and there's lots of glitter, the camera has picked up a little of it! :) I subtly coloured some pink around her but the camera hasn't picked it up.

I placed it in a pretty frame with a little making memories metal charm saying 'live, laugh, love'. My sister was over the moon!
I just wanted to share :)

Join the campaign

Marie Curie Cancer Care provides nurses who work in the community providing end-of-life care, totally free to terminally ill people in their own homes.
Do Crafts have joined together with Marie Curie Cancer Care to raise money through their Create A Card For Cancer Care campaign.

This campaign is such an easy way for us crafters to raise money for such a worthwhile cause which makes such a difference to the terminally ill and their families.
To take part, all you have to do is create an A6 card (with any theme / product). Put your card into a Marie Curie card bag and pop it in the post to the campaign headquarters.
You have until the end of April 09 and the cards will then be sold in Marie Curie shops to raise funds - if you're not a card maker, why not help the cause by buying a handmade card!
All profits from the sale of the cards go directly to Marie Curie Cancer Care.

Papermania have also released a limited edition clear stamp set. For every set sold £2 will be donated to the Create A Card For Cancer campaign. To find your nearest stockist visit www.docrafts.co.uk

I thought it'd be fun to come up with a couple of layouts to get you started and the cards I have made, I will be donating to the campaign.

Some interesting reading

I came across these articles by Julie Ebersole on her blog, Paper Trufflez regarding image use and "hot-linking" - something which I never knew about!  So I just wanted to pass the info on as it may affect you as a blogger and some of us may be doing this without realising. I hope it's useful ...

An interesting new website!

There's a great new Scandinavian online magazine for cardmakers being launched today!!

stampARTic

It has designers from Sweden, Norway, Finland and Denmark but all entries are also translated into English. The designers are so talented - be sure to check out their individual blogs too!

It looks to be a great resource for new techniques and inspiration with tutorials, challenges and competitions.

I need your feedback :)

Our online shop has been running for nearly 6 months now and I thought it would be a good time to get some feedback from you. I know there are a few things that niggle me and I plan to make some little changes and I'm sure some of you may have suggestions too.

I have set up a questionnaire which I hope you can spare a few minutes to answer. It's anonymous, so please be completely honest. Remember, we can't change something if we don't know that there's a problem. Below is a link to the questionnaire, please read the short introduction before commencing with the questions (it will run for a couple of weeks).
